History

Alfred Dirska and Michael Levin founded Dirska & Levin in March 1987. Fred and Mike had worked together defending workers' compensation claims at the law firm of O'Malley, Miles & Harrell, in Prince George's County. They were ahead of their time, encouraging and promoting women and minorities as evidenced by the racially divers and all female ownership of the firm currently.

Since opening the doors of D&L in 1987, we have grown to our present size by virtue of two factors. First, we hire and retain attorneys who have a genuine interest in, and talent for, litigating the interests of businesses and insurance companies in workers' compensation cases. Second, we strive to deliver top-quality results, while keeping in mind our clients' need for reasonably priced legal services.

We were one of the first law firms in Maryland to work with the insurance industry to implement litigation management, and we have teamed with our clients to significantly reduce both claim costs and expenses. As the resumés of our attorneys reflect, we have a broad variety of legal experiences.

Our office is centrally located near Columbia, Maryland, so we are positioned within easy reach of Washington D.C. as well as hearing and Circuit Court locations throughout the State of Maryland. In fact, our attorneys have tried cases in every county in the State.
