The Law (LE§ 9-402) requires that each employer carry workers' compensation insurance. Those who are uninsured or improperly insured are subject to a penalty up to $25,000. Failure to pay can result in additional costs, such as court costs, attorney fees, collection fees, and even suspension of all licenses and permits to do business in the State of Maryland.

The Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission is actively identifying and penalizing employers who are not insured. If you receive a Show Cause Order requiring you to attend a Hearing to answer insurance coverage questions, you have the right to be represented by an attorney.

Please contact us today to see if we can help you reduce or avoid penalties resulting from problems with your workers’ compensation coverage.
